Jim Piatt worked for US Customs and CBP for 44 years and hails from a Customs family. His father, Cecil Piatt, was in Customs 31 years and Jim’s son, Richard has been in Customs for over 25 years. Jim was in the Senior Executive ranks of Customs for 16 years and served as the Regional Commissioner of the Southwest Region, where he held responsibility for the Mexican border for the states of Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.

Bob Murtagh served in the US Customs Service for over 30 years before retiring in 1994. He was the founding President of the National US Customs Museum Foundation in 2008 and continues to lead the Foundation as we expand our mission.

Chuck Dodge worked as a Special Agent for Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs before its transformation into the DEA, before his service in U.S. Customs. For the past 13 years he has been the Executive Director of the Association of Former Customs Special Agents. Most recently he has taken on the task of Curator of the National Storage Site for Historical Customs artifacts and items.
